Position Summary
We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to assess nutritional risk and provide evidence‑based medical nutrition therapy across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. This role collaborates closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to support patient‑centered goals, promote health, and manage disease through individualized nutrition care and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy, counseling, and diet education to patients and families
  • Modify diet orders using Registered Dietitian order‑writing privileges as appropriate
  • Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exams when indicated
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and healthcare staff on patient care plans
  • Support safe, nutritionally adequate food services in partnership with Nutrition Services
  • Assist with staff education, training, and orientation; support dietetic interns
  • Develop and update nutrition education materials, menus, and quality standards
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs

Required Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited dietetics program
    OR Master’s degree from an accredited dietetics program (required for new graduates)
  • Completion of a Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Undergraduate Program
  • Registered Dietitian credential – Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Licensed Dietitian – Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of related clinical experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience providing nutrition education across diverse populations
  • New graduates welcome to apply
