Position Overview

The OB/GYN Physician provides comprehensive women’s healthcare services including preventive care, obstetric management, gynecologic care, surgical procedures, and emergency interventions. This role collaborates closely with healthcare team members to ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.

Essential Responsibilities

Patient Care & Consultation

• Perform patient evaluations including medical histories and physical examinations
• Provide counseling related to reproductive health, contraception, fertility, and family planning
• Educate patients on preventive care, screenings, and lifestyle modifications
• Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions including infections, menstrual disorders, and menopause-related concerns

Obstetric Care

• Manage routine and high-risk pregnancies from prenatal care through postpartum follow-up
• Perform prenatal evaluations and monitor maternal and fetal health
• Assist patients with delivery planning, labor management, and postpartum care
• Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections as needed while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes

Gynecologic Services & Surgery

• Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions including endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, and abnormal bleeding
• Perform gynecologic surgical procedures including minimally invasive and major surgeries
• Conduct preventive screenings including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams
• Manage infertility concerns and hormone-related conditions

Emergency & Acute Care

• Respond to obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
• Provide care for complications including ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, and preeclampsia
• Stabilize and manage urgent or life-threatening women’s health conditions

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Document treatment plans, procedures, outcomes, and patient communications
• Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Collaboration & Teamwork

• Collaborate with nursing staff, surgical teams, sonographers, and other healthcare providers
• Coordinate patient care and facilitate referrals when appropriate
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education initiatives

Professional Development & Community Engagement

• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based OB/GYN practices and advancements
• Participate in continuing medical education and professional development opportunities
• Support women’s health advocacy, education, and community outreach efforts

Additional Responsibilities
