Shenandoah Medical Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, compassionate care while working closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their treatment journey.

Position Overview
The Radiation Therapist performs a variety of radiation oncology procedures and is responsible for delivering accurate, safe, and effective radiation treatments. This role also supports patient care, treatment planning, quality assurance, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Essential Responsibilities
Radiation Therapy Delivery
- Deliver precise radiation treatments and simulations to ensure patient safety and quality care
- Interpret and implement treatment plans as directed by the radiation oncologist
- Perform basic dose calculations and assist with brachytherapy procedures
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the care team
Patient Care & Education
- Prepare patients for procedures, verify identity, and explain treatments clearly
- Provide ongoing education related to treatment, side effects, and care needs
- Observe and respond to physical and emotional patient needs throughout treatment
- Ensure coordination of care with physicians and clinical staff
Equipment & Safety
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure proper machine settings prior to treatment
- Maintain radiation therapy equipment and report any variances or issues
- Follow all infection control and radiation safety procedures
Quality Assurance
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Assist in patient case reviews and departmental conferences
- Ensure accurate documentation of treatment plans, dosage, and patient progress
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and treatment documentation
- Communicate effectively with providers and care team members
- Report changes in patient condition promptly and appropriately
