Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist providers in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role includes patient care, imaging procedures, safety compliance, and collaboration with the healthcare team during overnight hours.

Essential Responsibilities

Imaging & Procedures

• Perform radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
• Conduct imaging in multiple areas including X-ray and CT
• Operate mobile x-ray equipment in the emergency department and at bedside
• Follow established protocols for contrast administration
• Select appropriate technical parameters to ensure high-quality imaging

Patient Care

• Assess patients’ ability to tolerate procedures
• Properly identify patients and verify orders
• Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety
• Transport patients as needed
• Respond appropriately to patient needs and provide first aid when necessary

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and visitors
• Utilize exposure reduction techniques including shielding and proper positioning
• Wear personal radiation monitoring devices
• Adhere to infection control standards

Equipment & Environment

• Prepare and maintain imaging rooms and equipment
• Clean and disinfect equipment between patients
• Monitor equipment functionality and report issues
• Maintain adequate supplies

Documentation & Communication

• Complete accurate and timely patient documentation
• Ensure proper exam documentation for billing and reporting
• Communicate effectively with providers and care team members
• Report changes in patient condition promptly

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned
